Onderzoek wijst uit dat de supermarktbezoeker lui aangelegd is.
In tegenstelling tot wat men zou denken, is ooghoogte op een winkelschap niet de beste plaats om producten verkocht te krijgen. Het is de armhoogte, omdat we daar het beste bij kunnen.
Op ooghoogte verkoopt een product al 10 procent minder goed dan op armhoogte. Producten op het onderste schap verkopen 20 procent minder goed. Boven ooghoogte daalt de kans dat iemand iets in zijn winkelkarretje legt al met 30 procent.
