Groene wagens kunnen ook fun zijn
Eindelijk weer eens een campagne waar je vrolijk van wordt. Op internet kwam ik volgende campagne van Volkswagen tegen. De Duitse autobouwer heeft in Zweden een campagne gebouwd rond de gedachte dat plezier de gemakkelijkste manier is om het gedrag van mensen te veranderen. Door het publiek de leuke kant van verantwoord gedrag te laten zien, worden ze subtiel voorbereid voor de introductie van de groene auto’s van Volkswagen.
Tijdens de campagne wordt een aantal experimenten uitgevoerd waarmee wordt getest of “fun” het gedrag van mensen kan veranderen. Het eerste experiment is een pianotrap bij het metrostation in Stockholm. Waardoor de trap nemen, in plaats van de ernaast gelegen roltrap, opeens veel leuker is geworden. Het gebruik van de trap is met 66% gestegen.
Ook de diepste afvalbakken ter wereld helpen om er voor te zorgen dat er meer afval in de vuilnisbak wordt gegooid.
Op de campagnesite rolighetsteorin.se, of thefuntheory.com voor de Engelse versie, werd opgeroepen om eigen ideeën voor een experiment in te sturen waarmee het gedrag van mensen ten goede kan worden veranderd. De beste inzending werd beloond met € 2500.
De campagne is ontwikkeld door DDB Stockholm en verdient wat mij betreft navolging: campagnes met alleen maar woorden en groene labels hebben we immers al meer dan voldoende.
